Public charter schools from across New Haven will come together this Saturday to clean up the Science Park neighborhood and welcome Highville Charter School, formerly located in Hamden, to the Elm City.

ADVISORY: New Haven Charter School Community Gathers to Clean Up Science Park

New Haven, CT – Public charter schools from across New Haven will come together this Saturday to clean up the Science Park neighborhood and welcome Highville Charter School, formerly located in Hamden, to the Elm City.

Highville has served predominantly New Haven and Hamden students since opening in 1998. After searching for a new space for many years, they relocated to One Science Park, which is close to many of the Newhallville students they serve in New Haven. This is Highville’s first school year in the new location.

Schools participating include: Achievement First Amistad Academy; Achievement First Elm City College Prep; Booker T. Washington Academy; Common Ground High School; Elm City Montessori School; and Highville Charter School.

WHO: Public charter school students, parents, educators, and supporters from every charter in New Haven.
WHAT: Pick up trash in New Haven’s Science Park neighborhood, followed by a community lunch open to all volunteers.
WHEN: Saturday, October 3, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (Community lunch to follow from noon until 4 p.m.)
