New Cell Phone Metaphor
Regarding the brewski-ha-ha over whether or not NYC kids can bring cell phones to school, and what looked perhaps like the start of a potential compromise coming from Chancellor Joel Klein's office, Mayor Bloomberg says fugheddaboutit. Kids can't carry cell phones as long as he is mayor.
Chalkboard prediction: Once this story blows over, NYC schools will go back to allowing common sense to prevail and letting kids quietly bring their phones to school. Also, look for a long line of mayoral hopefuls starting to push the easy "cellphone in every pot" agenda.
Important metaphor mix for this Saturday evening: A bird in the hand gathers no moss.
UPDATE: NY Sun story setting up the issue here.
