Protest or Picket Line?

In the continuing saga over the decision to allow the Ross Global Academy Charter School to share space with the underutilized NEST+M public school for privileged kids on Manhattan's Lower East Side, the NEST+M parents have now hired a public relations/political strategy firm. The firm is working to help get the word out about an event tonight where NEST supporters hope to protest/disrupt the lottery process for parents trying to enroll their children in the Ross school.

The NEST group (see their website here) has done a remarkable job organizing parents to fight to keep Ross out. It's rock, solid parental engagement. But if they allow tonight's protest to vilify/intimidate the other parents who want their kids to enroll in Ross, i.e. the event starts to look more like a picket line that parents can't cross rather than an expression of support for NEST, not even their PR man will be able to help them recover their message.
