-- In case you aren't paying close attention, the New York State legislature convened yesterday and left without doing anything. Bluffing, blustering, etc. in full swing. Stay tuned.
-- Would someone please give those assemblymen and senators a pay raise?!?! It's no wonder we had yet another state legislator indicted yesterday for embezzling cash - these people have to eat too!
-- Eduwonk's Andy Rotherham takes exception to my characterization of NYSUT as "a big freaking macho gorilla." He suggests the NYSUT union bosses are more like dinosaurs. (A friend of mine likes to note that, indeed, dinosaurs were the most powerful creatures alive... right up until their extinction.) Meanwhile AFT Ed, who carefully doesn't deny that NYSUT is run by a bunch of powerful primates, points out that some people who dig charter schools are wealthy.
