"We're very excited to be able to give back to city of Bridgeport," said Tim Dutton, director of The Bridge Academy. "It's also great to bring so many people in the community together to do something positive."

“Days like today make me so proud to be part of the charter school community,” said Jeremiah Grace, Connecticut state director for the Northeast Charter Schools Network. “I believe in the work our schools are doing, and admire the fact that so many people are out here on a Saturday. I am so glad I can work alongside parents, students, and teachers today to help clean up Washington Park.”

Schools participating include: Achievement First Bridgeport Academy; Capital Preparatory Harbor School; Great Oaks Charter School; New Beginnings Family Academy; Park City Preparatory Academy; and The Bridge Academy.

According to the State Department of Education, Bridgeport’s six public charter schools serve 2,627 students.
