CHARTER ASSOCIATION CONGRATULATES BROAD PRIZE FINALISTS, INCLUDING NEW YORK CITY'S SUCCESS ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOLS
Albany, NY – The Northeast Charter Schools Network today released the following congratulatory statement to the schools named finalists for the Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools, including New York City's Success Academy Charter Schools. The $250,000 Broad Prize will be awarded to one of the finalists at the National Charter Schools Conference on June 12.
The Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools is awarded annually to the charter management organization (CMO) that has the best academic outcomes, particularly for low-income students and students of color. This year’s finalists have been chosen from among 39 of the country’s largest CMOs by a review board of national education experts, including former Education Secretary John King.
