CHARTER ASSOCIATION THANKS STATE LAWMAKERS FOR SEEING THROUGH THE NOISE OF CHARTER HATERS
Lawmakers delivered a state budget supportive of all public school students
Albany, NY – The Northeast Charter Schools Network this evening thanked Governor Cuomo and the State Senate and Assembly for their support for charter schools in the final state budget.
Although NECSN is still waiting to analyze the final budget bills, Governor Cuomo announced earlier that the final budget will include an estimated additional $430 per charter school student for schools statewide.
Northeast Charter Schools Network CEO Kyle Rosenkrans said, “We are pleased that state leaders saw through the noise of the “edu-stablishment” and increased funding for all public schools statewide--including charter schools.
“Charter school students are public school students and they too deserve the support of the people who represent them in Albany. This budget shows charter families from New York City to Buffalo and everywhere in between that lawmakers are listening to what is important to them and that their voices matter.”
About the Northeast Charter Schools Network: The Northeast Charter Schools Network is the membership and advocacy organization for the more than 250 charter schools in New York and Connecticut. Its mission is to support and expand high quality charter schools.
