CHARTER ASSOCIATION WELCOMES FIRST-EVER
NEW YORK STATE DIRECTOR
Albany, NY – The Northeast Charter Schools Network today announced its first-ever New York State Director Claudia Granados.
Claudia Granados said, “Education truly is the great equalizer. As an immigrant, and the child of parents whose first language is not English but who pushed me to excel in school, I recognize that I am where I am today in large part because of an excellent education. Charter schools are providing this path for so many children and I knew I wanted to represent educators who are doing this meaningful work.”
Granados will oversee New York State advocacy work and will drive the campaigns focused on achieving NECSN’s main goals. Granados starts with NECSN full time on August 27. She will be based in the organization’s New York City office but will routinely travel statewide focusing on the largest school districts where charters are located.
