CHARTERS CONTINUE TO OUT-PERFORM HOST DISTRICTS
ASSOCIATION RELEASES COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF TEST RESULTS
Albany, NY – The Northeast Charter Schools Network today sent the following statement in response to the New York State Education Department’s release of the 2015 Grades 3-8 Math and ELA test scores.
Northeast Charter Schools Network CEO Kyle Rosenkrans said, “Year after year, charter schools out-perform the districts in their region and this year was no exception. Many charter schools stand out as beacons of hope, particularly in places where the traditional districts continue to flounder and there is a lack of vision from leaders about how to turn the tide.
"While we celebrate the bright spots, we recognize charters must continue to aim higher. We can and we will do to whatever it takes to improve the choices that parents have in struggling districts - especially the ones where proficiency rates are beyond disgraceful. We stand ready to fulfill our mission of supporting and growing more great schools for all children."
