Albany Leadership Charter High School for Girls (ALH) is seeking a principal candidate to lead
an innovative all-girls public charter high school in the City of Albany, NY. The school has
been in operation since September 2010. The ideal candidate will have experience as a high
school teacher and a successful high school leader, and provide proof of running a highperforming
high school (including the closing of achievement gaps and the increasing of the
graduation and college attendance rates). The successful candidate will possess educational
leadership and/or teaching experience in an urban setting, and will be asked to demonstrate how
they have successfully used data to inform instruction, improve student outcomes, and enrich
faculty professional development. Applicants must also possess the interpersonal skills needed
to maintain high quality relationships with parents and to inspire teacher effort. Successful
candidates should have a strong commitment to the value of single sex education, and a
demonstrated commitment to community, parent and student engagement. The compensation
