State Charter Association: Lift the NYC Charter Cap and Extend Mayoral Control

Albany, NY – The Northeast Charter Schools Network today sent the following statement as lawmakers in Albany are negotiating end of session legislation.

Northeast Charter Schools Network New York State Director Andrea Rogers said, "It's critical the Senate and Assembly come to a compromise that puts children and families first. Allowing for charter school growth in New York City is a no-brainer. Tens of thousands of children are waiting for their chance. Lifting the cap and extending mayoral control are the right things to do."

About the Northeast Charter Schools Network: The Northeast Charter Schools Network is the membership and advocacy organization for the more than 250 charter schools in New York and Connecticut. Its mission is to support and expand high quality charter schools.

Great effort from the Northeast Charter Schools Network! I appreciate it. Children deserve good education and we are responsible offer it for our next generation. We have to teach our culture, mannerism, about our society etc. Kids have to begin their education from basic level of our culture as well.
