NEW YORK STATE CHARTER ASSOCIATION ISSUES THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT ON ANNOUNCED END-OF-SESSION LEGISLATION
Albany, NY – New York State’s charter school association today issued the following statement in response to lawmakers’ announcement of the end-of-session legislative package.
Northeast Charter Schools Network CEO Kyle Rosenkrans said, “Leaders again reassured families that charter school growth will continue. This is a big deal. Opening 50 new charter schools in New York City would extend a new lifeline to roughly 15-20 thousand children. It only makes a dent in the demand - but it is a big dent.”
About the Northeast Charter Schools Network: The Northeast Charter Schools Network is a regional advocacy organization for the more than 250 charter schools in New York and Connecticut. Its mission is to support and expand high quality charter schools in the region.
