STATE CHARTER ASSOCIATION RESPONDS TO NEW YORK CITY MAYOR’S COMMENTS ON CHARTER SCHOOL FUNDING DURING BUDGET HEARING TESTIMONY
Albany, NY – The Northeast Charter Schools Network today issued the following statement in response to Mayor de Blasio’s comments on charter school funding during his budget hearing testimony.
Northeast Charter Schools Network CEO Kyle Rosenkrans said, "Mayor de Blasio might decry a tale of two cities but he has no problem perpetuating a tale of two schools. Unfortunately it is the children who pay the price. Charter families typically aren't the privileged elites — they’re the very kids de Blasio says he cares about. But if they stay stuck in the failing system they'll be lucky if they graduate from high school. Mayor de Blasio's crusade against fair charter school funding is absolutely shameful.”
About the Northeast Charter Schools Network: The Northeast Charter Schools Network is a regional advocacy organization for the more than 250 charter schools in New York and Connecticut. Its mission is to support and expand high quality charter schools in the region.
