Families and scholars from Stamford’s public charter school community will welcome legislators to their school for breakfast, a tour of the school, and the chance to hear first-hand testimonials about why school choice is so critically important to families in Connecticut.

MEDIA ADVISORY FOR THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17: Stamford public charter school community invites legislators for breakfast, school tour

Stamford, CT – Families and scholars from Stamford’s public charter school community will welcome legislators to their school for breakfast, a tour of the school, and the chance to hear first-hand testimonials about why school choice is so critically important to families in Connecticut.

Stamford is home to three public charter schools. They are:

  • Stamford Academy: Enrolling 150 scholars in grades 9-12
  • Trailblazers Academy: Enrolling 135 scholars in grades 6 through 8
  • Stamford Charter School for Excellence: Enrolling 220 scholars in grades PreK through 2

Thursday’s event will include opportunities for media to speak with school leaders, scholars and families regarding the unique challenges facing Connecticut’s public charter school community. There will also be video and still photo opportunities throughout the school.

WHO: Stamford public charter school community, the Northeast Charter Schools Network staff. Confirmed invitees include Rep. William Tong, Rep. Daniel Fox, and eight members of the Stamford Board of Representatives. Additional invitees include state and local elected officials.

WHAT: Breakfast and remarks from Stamford public charter school educators, school leaders, families and scholars, as well as an opportunity to hear from legislators and community members
