MEDIA ADVISORY FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16: “Captured in Time”: Connecticut’s Charter Schools to Commemorate 20th Anniversary with Time Capsule Burial
New Haven, CT – To commemorate the 20th anniversary of charter schools in the state of Connecticut, charter school students, families, educators and school leaders will gather at Highville Charter School for the burial of a symbolic time capsule. Representatives from Connecticut’s 24 charter schools have contributed items representing their individual schools. Those items will be placed inside a time capsule and buried on the campus, with plans to reopen that time capsule in another 20 years.
Today, Connecticut is the proud home of 24 public charter schools, eight of which are among the very first to open in our state. From an urban farm located in the heart of the city, to an arts and communications immersive experience, students at Connecticut’s 24 public charter schools are learning in exciting and innovative ways!
